报告摘要:
Optical medical imaging promises to significantly advance our ability to visualize and quantify injuries and diseased tissue. It is critical that the sensors used in evaluating the state of health be evaluated and characterized for performance. Basic optical standards are routinely used for this purpose, but they do not accurately represent the subject being evaluated in a realistic way. Recent technological advances have led to the ability to generate and project hyperspectral scenes that represent reality in both spectral and spatial detail. This talk will describe the utility and methods developed to project hyperspectral scenes for the use in optical medical imaging.
报告人简介:
Dr. David Allen has been a leader in the development of advanced optical standards for environmental, medical, and security related applications. He has worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the leading metrology laboratory in the United States, for over 15 years. A significant part of that time involved leading the spectrophotometry program which includes the national scales of reflectance and transmittance. He earned his B.A. in Chemistry and M.S. in Environmental Biology from Hood College and Ph.D. in Earth Systems and Geoinformation Sciences (Remote Sensing) from George Mason University. He is also an adjunct professor at George Mason University, where he teaches Environmental Chemistry and Environmental Biology at the graduate level. His work has been recognized with awards from NIST, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and NASA.
